Antonio Hou is an underwater photographer, PADI dive instructor, and veterinary student currently studying in Melbourne, Australia.
His photography celebrates the incredible marine life found close to home. Rather than chasing distant expeditions due to a lack of funds, Antonio enjoys returning to the same dive sites time and time again, documenting their changing seasons and uncovering new stories beneath familiar waters. Since moving to Australia, he has become captivated by the weedy seadragon and the Australian giant cuttlefish, although the stubby squid and giant Pacific octopus will always hold a special place in his heart.
Encouraged by talented photographers and mentors in British Columbia, Antonio began entering photography competitions. His work has since received recognition from Scuba Diving Magazine, DPG's Dive into the Pink Photo Contest, and the Through Your Lens competition. In 2024, he was honoured to win the Aquatic Category of the Canadian Geographic Wildlife Photography of the Year competition.
